There are times when it is a very still day and an anticyclone sits across the whole of Scotland and stays there. I do not live in Scotland, but there was an anticyclone in northern England, where I live, last week.

Perhaps the passage of time dulls the memory of the people who live alongside them, but that is not the case for the victims.The serious nature of such crimes demands that those who are guilty be brought to justice.
The fact is that we have a responsibility to house and take care of these people. If we can make their lives a little bit better through provisions in the bill, I am all for that.
I am reminded of the statement—I cannot remember who said it—that the problem with human freedom is that we spend our lives defending scoundrels because oppressive laws are used first against scoundrels.
