In the Dundee, Hamilton and Paisley courts, as well as the other courts that have started to adopt the model, there is an increasing certainty that, if you are told that a trial will be on a particular date, it will take place on that date.
My worry, which I know that other members share, is that, by specifying dates, you go into an arena of not specifying other dates such as other religious festivals or other events that might be important to people.

I am trying to understand why those delivery dates were missed, because the reason given to the Parliament for David Tydeman’s departure was that he was continually missing dates.
There have been some additional operational issues with the Irish berth at Ardrossan harbour in the past couple of weeks. I am being kept up to date on that and I will make sure that the Minister for Transport keeps the committee up to date.
It will, when it is passed—as we hope it will be not long after the summer recess—leave Scotland as the only part of the UK with binding targets to reduce child poverty on the way to eliminating it.
Secondly, we need to decide whether to meet again before the summer recess, to consider some of the petitions that have been carried over from session 4 and some new petitions that have not yet been considered.
