For example, many councils have given meals-on-wheels contracts to companies that deliver frozen meals once a week; people will therefore lose the human contact that is provided by local organisations, the Womens Royal Voluntary Service or whomever.
Suicides (PE465) The next petition, from Mr George McAuley, calls on the Scottish Parliament to initiate a study aimed at establishing the incidence of suicides where loss of meaningful contact with their children is the sole or a contributing factor in the suicide of a parent.
Interestingly, at one point a representative of the parks and leisure department contacted us, after we had gone to a lot of trouble to contact people at the council.
To ask the Scottish Executive what the national standard is for social worker contact with a child on supervision. There are no national standardsfor the frequency of contact between a social worker and a child onsupervision.
