Other new and altered motions and amendments *S6M-01471 Stuart McMillan: Greenock Morton Football Club Becomes Community Owned—That the Parliament congratulates Morton Club Together on its fan takeover of Greenock Morton Football Club; notes that Morton Club Together, founded by Graham McLennan in April 2019, started with the aim of raising funds to contribute towards the first team playing budget, and that goal developed into pursuing community ownership by allowing fans to pay a monthly subscription to join Morton Club Together, creating funds for the eventual buy-out of the club from the owner, Crawford Rae, and affording every and any fan of the club the opportunity to become part of taking the club into community ownership; recognises that, at present, 850 Morton fans have signed up to membership of Morton Club Together, which is an entirely volunteer-led organisation, with many dedicated people giving up time, effort and help to make community ownership a success; gives special praise to Graham McLennan for founding Morton Club Together and getting a team of volunteers in place to drive the project forward; thanks the outgoing owner and chairman, Crawford Rae, for the tireless efforts of him and his family over the last 20 years, and wishes both Greenock Morton Football Club and Morton Club Together every success for the future.
