At that time people would take that on trust, but we do not live in that era and people are impatient to see results, not just in public services but in other services.
We need to review fundamentally the materials that we use and how we live our lives. Such a review will be driven not only by forthcoming European directives, but by existing directives that have not been fully implemented yet, such as directives on packaging or on waste electronic equipment.
We should remember that the countryside is a living and working countryside, where fences and agricultural activities are designed by farmers and landowners who are trying to earn a living.
Those objectives were to build a network and architecture that could go live; to provide learning opportunities; and to get into communities and become part of the way people live.
We hate to see unemployment in this country, but we are talking about people's lives. People's lives and health are sometimes more important than their jobs.
Let us get to work for the people who depend on us to improve the quality of their lives. Let us get down to the business that we were sent here to do.
