It is accepted that the housing sector is particularly good at delivering more for less, so we argue that it should get higher priority, that it should be further up the capital expenditure priority list, and that it should get more in addition to more from less, if that is not too convoluted.
Key examples of this include the £10 million Legacy 2014 Active Places Fund, the £5 million Legacy 2014 Young Persons’ Fund, the £4 million Celebrate Fund and the £5 million Sport Relief Home and Away programme.
It is currently very clear that ministers and their advisers do not get involved in that sort of discussion, and the order does not impinge directly on that sort of thing other than to say that in the period when they have access to the figures, they should not be engaged in that sort of activity because they can engage only in the activity that the order permits.
