In the Scottish Government responseiLetter from the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport, Jeane Freeman, in response to the Committee's report "Social Prescribing: Physical Activity is an Investment, not a cost", 4 February 2020 to our report following our inquiry onto social prescribing, a number of questions arose for us. While not directly linked with medicines, they do represent important factors in the wider social prescribing agenda and we take the opportunity of this section of this report to seek further details.

Some respondents felt the Bill is in contrast to the general shift in how we now view consent in medicine and in other areas of life. For example, the Montgomery ruling[1] was mentioned, as well as the move within data protection legislation to require express consent to be obtained.
