Many people may not consider those issues as matters of high politics, but they matter in the daily lives of people in our communities, whose priorities are our priorities.
In Scotland, we want young adults to leave school caring about the community in which they live and the people with whom they live, work and play and not focused only on their own needs and greeds.
That is perhaps the view in rural areas, particularly in Sutherland, where people have been much more independent. To put it simply, if someone lives in a rural area, they might not have neighbours who are saying, "You shouldn't be living like this.
