The Executive does not have a policy of abolishing the right to buy. Recent pressured area designations have suspended the right to buy in the designated areas for tenancies with a modernised right to buy.
Membership of the Committee of the Regions (CoR) ended when the UK left the EU on 31 January 2020. However CoR established a Contact Group for relations with representatives of UK local government and devolved administrations to ensure that political dialogue with these representatives continued after the UK's withdrawal from the EU.
It might also be useful if the petitioners were encouraged to contact the Justice and Home Affairs Committee when the bill comes before that committee.
The figures include local authority and Scottish Homes right to buy, rent to mortgage and voluntary sales, all of which were made under the right to buy legislation.
The provision will ensure that registrations that are made online on the NHS organ donor register will count as written authorisations under the terms of the bill.
