Public Petitions Committee, 08 Mar 2006

Trust Law (PE817) The first of our current petitions is PE817 by Elaine Black and Ewan Kennedy, which calls on the Scottish Parliament to reform the law of trust to ensure that, where a trust has been set up for the benefit of a community, that community will be formally consulted by any party who seeks to change the operation of the trust, and that the view of each member of that community will be accountably...

(S2O-8833) If the new payment rates lead to a higher level of good-quality applications to the organic aid scheme that cannot be met within the existing allocation to that scheme, I will review the allocations to other schemes within the rural development budget with a view to transferring more funds to the organic aid scheme budget. A balance must be struck in all of that, but it is one that we will strike in the usual way, taking into account all relevant considerations.
Official Report Meeting date: 14 April 2005

Plenary, 14 Apr 2005

Does that account for the rise in call volume since the campaign began?
Official Report Meeting date: 24 March 2005

Plenary, 24 Mar 2005

I am surprised that Rob Gibson would think it particularly partisan of the two local members to take the trouble to go on their own account to meet the commissioner. To try to persuade the Commission on ferry fares seems to be a perfectly proper move for a constituency MSP to make.
Official Report Meeting date: 2 February 2005

Public Petitions Committee, 02 Feb 2005

Scottish Public Services Ombudsman (PE745) PE745, by Yogi Dutta, calls on the Parliament to urge the Executive to amend the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman Act 2002 to incorporate a range of measures in relation to the accountability and responsibilities of the ombudsman and to produce guidance notes to describe the procedure for investigating complaint...

Does he accept that for farms that straddle the border it is important that any appeals mechanism take into account individual cases rather than a set rule?
