I am not sure whether there is an updated figure, but given that the new contract to run air ambulances will cost £70 million over six to seven years, surely funding can be found to keep the Islander for use in emergencies.Unless action is taken by 31 March, the security that the well-trusted Islander gives Orkney will end.
