We ought to probe it rather than just assume that it is true because people say that it is true.Spending on education has grown for 20 years or so, but there is a huge debate among education researchers about the best way of tackling inequalities. Some believe that the best way is simply to put money into education; others believe that the best way is to target inequalities.
