There can always be nuances and I do not doubt that we can all take a slightly different view of certain bits of the bill, but all the pressures on it should be taken into account. To be honest, I am not entirely convinced that Fiona Hyslop in particular has steered the same course throughout the bill.

We also believe that a UK-wide approach will ensure consistency in the process of determining legal recognition and in the legal consequences that flow from recognition of a transsexual person's acquired gender, thereby avoiding difficult and complex cross-border issues.The relevant Scottish provisions have been included in the bill to ensure that the legislation takes account of Scots law.
