The committee’s recommendation is clear that a reference to missing people could be added in such a way to make it clear that the bill may be used by people who seek to manage the estate of a missing person.
If the Children and Young People’s Commissioner has indicated that there may be more that we can do, it would be useful to explore that to its end point.
As soon as a Public Bill (i.e. a Government, Committee or Member’s Bill) has completed Stage 1, amendments for consideration at Stage 2 may be lodged; and as soon as Stage 2 is completed, amendments for Stage 3 consideration may be lodged.
If people have taken time to give their views, in the hope it may influence change and feel nothing has happened as a result, they will be reluctant to try again and may well adopt such views”.
I do not have that information at hand. There may be practical issues around it, so it would be very helpful if you could write to us about that.I have a supplementary question that picks up on some of the points that were made at the end of the earlier evidence session, which you may have heard.
I would not want to be drawn into speculation about what may or may not happen in the United States until we have firm evidence of the approach that the CDC will take.
