Inquiries into Fatal Accidents and Sudden Deaths etc (Scotland) Bill: Stage 1 Item 3 is a continuation of our inquiries into the Fatal Accidents and Sudden Deaths etc (Scotland) Bill.
We considered the petition, and the committee’s stage 1 report on the Transport (Scotland) Bill suggested that such provision should become part of the bill.

This issue was considered as part of the process of bringing forward new legislation to create a new lead body for the historic environment, the Historic Environment ScotlandBill, which is currently before Parliament.
Introduction
At its meeting on 17 March 2026, the Committee considered the following instruments under its remit and agreed to draw them to the attention of the Parliament:
Non-Domestic Rates (Miscellaneous Amendment) (Scotland) Regulations 2026 (SSI 2026/135); and
Renters’ Rights Act 2025 (Commencement) (Scotland) Regulations 2026 (SSI 2026/113 (C.9))
The Committee's recommendations in relation to these instruments are set out in the next section of this report.
