I was encouraged by the minister’s comments in that regard.I was also pleased by the minister’s comments about fathers, because I am totally convinced that it is extremely important that children have, where possible, positive interaction with both parents. To date, many fathers have had a raw deal, particularly when relationships have broken down.

The group has achieved a great deal since 2000, when the then Scottish Executive established it, and I pay tribute to the work that it has done.
