That is not what this Parliament is about. We hold the Executive to account in the Parliament, and we are in danger of going round and round in circles if we try to go down the road of arguing that the commissioner should also take into account the behaviour of MSPs.
Convener, you will appreciate that I am reluctant to make the figures too easy, as that would remove the mystery behind being an accountant and, as I am a professional accountant, that raises a conflict of interests for me.
If we are truly to be an open and accountable Parliament, we have to reach a position where every MSP feels that we do not want people to act as brokers and that that is not how we want to do business.
