Let me explain the power that we have. No one takes laying a report before Parliament lightly, because doing so makes someone publicly accountable, and our compendium reports will make many more people accountable.
There are areas beyond that where members may wish to lay down markers now, areas such as guidance procedures in other Parliaments and procedural matters relating to committee-initiated work.
