Since anyone given an extended sentence where the custodial term is less than four years will have committed sexual offences, they will not be affected by the changes made in this Bill.
Those with an extended sentence with a custodial term of four years or more will NOT be affected by future changes to long-term prisoners brought in under the subordinate legislation powers brought in by this Bill.
In addition to its work considering subordinate legislation, as the lead committee, the Committee considered the Trusts and Succession (Scotland) Bill at Stage 2. The Committee also reported on the delegated powers provisions in 5 Bills at Stage 1.
Sections 3 and 4: Ancillary provision and Commencement
Section 3 allows the Scottish Ministers to make various types of ancillary provision if these are needed in order for the Bill to operate effectively.
