The revenue raised from prescription charges in Scotland in 2000-01 is likely to be £43.4 million; this figure is provisional pending finalisation of the NHS Trust annual accounts. The estimate of revenue to be raised in 2001-02 is £45.7 million.
The Scottish Executive is working with Health and Environmental Health officials of Dumfries and Galloway Council as well as the Scottish Environment Protection Agency to ensure that public and environmental health considerations are taken fully into account in the operation of the site at Birkshaw.

Alcohol misuse services will be at the heart of the proposed national Plan for Action on alcohol misuse, and in developing that component of the plan the needs of specific groups such as women will require to be taken into account. S1W-14681

The expert seminar Women and Alcohol was funded by the Scottish Executive and we have noted the recommendations emerging from it. We will take these into account in developing the Plan for Action.
