Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill.

These are government schemes available in times of crisis to remove products from the market and store them so they can be placed back on the market at a later date. These schemes originate from the EU, and a helpful explainer on these terms is available from the European Commission's website.
The Bill proposes that four of these powers will be permanently available to Scottish Ministers whereas the fifth power, which makes provision for the early release of prisoners, is time limited until 30 November 2023 with the option to extend this date by regulations for a further year at a time until 30 November 2025.
Background
One of the options open to the police, following the arrest of a suspect, is to release the person subject to an undertaking to appear at court on a specified date (provided for in the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2016).
