Following the floods of October 2023, the Scottish Government was able to move quickly on the back of having already created the flood bank restoration scheme. Flood banks had been blown out, and it was able to provide financial support so that farmers could fix and restore flood banks very quickly, using that funding.

To date, there have been 15 applications to the scheme, and I would encourage all those who think they may be entitled to this payment but have not yet applied to now do so.
