Carnegie UK told the Committee that, while they supported the creation of a new accountability mechanism through the Bill, it recognised:
… the challenges that Scotland’s commissioners face in relation to duplication, resourcing and legislative constraints.
The Scottish Local Government Elections Amendment (Denmark) Regulations 2024 amend the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 to add Denmark to the list of countries in schedule 6A of that Act for the purposes of candidacy rights in Scottish local government elections.
Police Scotland (Racial Profiling) To ask the Scottish Government what steps it is taking to address any racial profiling practices in Police Scotland.
However, the last thing that our businesses need right now, whether they are in Scotland or in other parts of the UK, is to be ripped out of the world’s biggest single market.
It is a practical example of how the ScotlandBill could strengthen Parliament’s effectiveness as an institution and our effectiveness as a Government, and the impact of our activities, if we were to have responsibilities of that nature.
