The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) recommended that the influenza vaccination programme be extended to those aged 65 years and over in March this year. The JCVI was not invited to suggest or endorse an uptake target for the programme.
To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S1W-4347 by Sarah Boyack on 21 March 2000, whether it will require the relevant local authorities to safeguard the routes identified in the answer when revised structure plans are submitted to it.
As is clear from the arrangements established for the recent distribution of the additional resources for schools announced in the Budget in March, it is already possible to take steps to ensure that schools can receive additional resources through local authority channels.
