Official Report Meeting date: 20 January 2005

Plenary, 20 Jan 2005

He normally couples that with a great mantra about all the millions that he has spent on our education system, which have produced poor results. If he is really interested in spending and investing more, and in improving choice and diversity in our education system, why is his Scottish Executive spurning Lord Laidlaw's generous offer to invest in a city aca...

Official Report Meeting date: 3 March 2004

Public Petitions Committee, 03 Mar 2004

Equal opportunities are normally taken into account whenever a committee produces a report on an inquiry or at stage 1 of a bill.
Official Report Meeting date: 1 October 2003

I have found that there is not much onus on local authorities to produce evidence that a debt is owed before they refer the case to sheriff officers.

Finance Committee, 16 Sep 2003

The experience has been that committees produce far better reports and can feed into the legislative process better if they discuss draft reports in private, which is probably why the Conveners Group reached its conclusion at its away day.
