There is no lawyer or quantity surveyor living in the street, and people may not have the time or the energy—after dealing with the cost of living crisis, feeding the kids and so on—to get together, go to board meetings and do all that work pro bono.
Further to this, it is estimated that 4 in 10 pensioners in Scotland live in fuel poverty (with an 17 estimated 1 in 4 living in extreme fuel poverty) and at least 10% of older people are at risk of 18 experiencing malnourishment.
