To ask the Scottish Executive how many schools will have access to the internet before the end of October 1999. In March 1999 there were 1204 primary schools (53%) and 320 secondary schools (82%) with access to the Internet.
They are the core of our remit.I also agree with Susan Deacon that we need to leave enough time in January, February and March to produce a legacy paper that is worthy of the name.
We held a meeting in Kirkcudbright on 24 February; we met again on 6 and 11 March; we reported our findings on objections to the bill on 14 March; and amendments were considered at a final meeting of the committee on 26 March.
