I note that in evidence to your committee Police Scotland indicated that this 1 figure was 63 in 2024, whilst indicating that there may be underreporting. However, Paragraph 18 of the Policy Memorandum highlights that the Kennel Club estimated that there may have been as many as 193 incidences of dog theft in 2020.
