The petitioners call on the Parliament to work in partnership with retailers, the police and local authorities to improve the safety of shop workers by promoting and resourcing safer shopping partnerships.At our meeting on 17 March 2004, the committee considered a response from the Executive stating that proposals for new initiatives in that area were being drawn up and that a short-life steering group was expected to report to ministers before the end of March.
