It might be where it is due to an accident of history, but it commands huge local loyalty and it is in the right place for all the people of Angus and the Mearns, whom it serves.Secondly, I am deeply concerned about the proposed centralisation of maternity and children's facilities at Ninewells hospital.

I will certainly be making a submission in support of the crossrail project, and I have today launched a petition that I hope will command a high level of support for the scheme. When I asked a question on crossrail recently, people queried whether the minister's response showed a weakening of the Executive's commitment to the scheme, as he said that crossra...

Official Report Meeting date: 22 December 2005

Plenary, 22 Dec 2005

There have been inquiries by the Health Department, which investigated the issues relating to the heat treatment of blood products and published its report; by the Health and Community Care Committee, which concluded that there was nothing to be gained by further inquiry into the issues that have been raised; and by Lord Ross's expert group, which was instrumental in laying the foundations for the Skipton Fund. Our amendment argues that the main objective now is for the NHS to continue to implement the lessons that have been learned and to ensure that the supply of blood and blood products is as safe as possible for the benefit of patients now and in the future. I hope that that view will command...

This matter of a register of interests of MSPs' staff should be dealt with quickly and effectively, but in a way that commands the confidence of all. It recently came to our knowledge that concerns have been expressed by employees—especially on the ground that they have not been consulted.Concern focused primarily on three items.
