There is a distinction between that and the bank, which is the NHS’s own staff. Nothing suggests to me that there are concerns about the quality of what we get, although clearly we all have the ambition of having full establishments and using our bank where possible.
We should also have a wee word with the secretariat for the CPG on human trafficking because it should not have agreed a date for its AGM but then held a joint meeting with another group on that date, letting the AGM fall.
We know nothing whatever about the funding, but we know that the United Kingdom Government pledged to provide funding to the end of the previous parliamentary term. That was supposed to be 2022, but that date has now fallen aside, of course.
The letter further explains that, at present, the dates for future Privy Council meetings are unclear and it is therefore desirable that, if possible, the order is laid before Her Majesty on 15 July.
As the minister has suggested, we reckon that 60 per cent or thereabouts of the capacity is used in term time and slightly less during holidays. That provides us with the basis for a specific conversation that we can have with each authority about how we can take this issue forward.
