Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee report on The Deposit and Return Scheme for Scotland Amendment Regulations 2023 [draft] - Introduction

According to the Policy Note the purpose of the Regulations are to make amendments to the scheme in response to an independent Gateway Review of the readiness of the DRS, engagement with industry stakeholders and were made in the context of uncertainty around whether the scheme would receive a full exclusion from the UK Internal Market Act 2020 (UKIMA). On 7 June, the Minister wrote to the Committee indicating that following recent developments the Regulations would be 'revisited'.
