On a positive note, evidence suggests public interest in media coverage of women's elite sport has increased in recent years. A 2022 Women's Sport Trust report showed that 36.1 million people watched women's sport on TV between January-July 2022, an increase from 17.5 million during the equivalent period in 2021.
