I will carefully consider the evidence that the committee has collected and any recommendations that it makes that would improve the lives of our pupils. I am happy to respond to any questions that members may have.
However, Mr Rowley’s point is valid because drilling down really matters, as the real action happens in quite small communities—that is where lives are varying and are getting better, worse or whatever.
We must not forget the tobacco epidemic, which is claiming 13,000 lives in Scotland every year. The committee should not be distracted from that epidemic and e-cigarettes should not be allowed to be a distraction from tackling the availability and supply of the more harmful product.

Quite rightly, Dame Elish referred to the scale of the living environment—I think that she meant its context in relation to the communities that women come from and go back to.
That could be a problem for many owners: for example, young families who are struggling with a mortgage, or elderly persons who are living on pensions, with only modest savings.
We cannot solve all the problems with one measure, but if we could solve the problem in public places, it would certainly make the lives of many of my and, I am sure, Christine Grahame’s constituents a lot better.
