The Scottish Government is committed to encouraging young people to stay in education and training after the age of 16, but we do not consider that raising the compulsory leaving age in Scotland would be the best way of bringing about that change.However, we are not debating the merits of raising the leaving age today.

Neurodivergence in Scotland - Workload pressures, support for schools and training

The draft Plan cautions that the estimates it sets out: "... are based on forecasts to 2040 and so rely on a series of assumptions, meaning there is a degree of uncertainty and they represent best estimates. In reality, costs and benefits are likely to change as a result of economic and technological factors."

Deputy Chief Constable Speirs said that the PSD is best placed to assess and investigate complaints about police officers, as the staff are trained to do so and committed to trying to be as efficient and effective as they can be.
