Employers are likely to rescind offers of employment, or the worker can be barred from certain forms of employment if they have to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. The written submission from National Ugly Mugs supported this proposal in the Bill and noted that quashing historic convictions “would align with Scotland’s commitments under CEDAW and the ECHR to remove systemic barriers for women".
