To ask the Scottish Executive whether the impact on tourism of HM Revenue and Customs’ changes to tax relief on furnished holiday letting properties has been considered.
Alternatively, in the case of ambulatory references, the effect of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 is to freeze the ambulatory reference at the exit date. Changes to the regulations after the exit date obviously will not refer to directives, but there are mechanisms in place to address those concerns.
In evidence to the committee, reference has been made—including by the SLC—to holiday contracts, whereby one member of a family will contract the holiday and all the arrangements pertaining thereto.
