A constitution would define and limit the powers of Brussels. MSPs such as myself who represent constituencies in the Highlands and Islands seek co-operation from Europe on the problem of infectious salmon anaemia, which is a viral disease that is causing severe damage to a Scottish industry that employs 6,000 people, mostly in the Highlands and Islands.

Labour has been in power in Fife for more than 30 years, the Labour Executive has been in power since 1999, and we have had a Labour Government at Westminster since 1997, but despite that, teacher numbers in Fife have gone down and levels of attainment in our secondary schools continue to fall.I visited a school in Glenrothes recently, where the children were wonderful. They put on a debate for the MSPs...

I wonder where we are going.I did not serve as an MSP in the first session of the Parliament—and I was not particularly keen to come back for the next one—but it seems strange that the people who created all the tsars now seem to be railing against the fact that they did not set up any controls on their finances.

At a recent presentation that it made to Glasgow and west of Scotland MSPs, BAA indicated the significant growth in activity at the airport over the next 12 to 15 months.
