We have been absolutely clear that, in order to maintain the considerable momentum in the renewables industry, EMR must provide the same degree of market certainty that the renewables obligation system delivers and has delivered.At the previous evidence session, I advised the committee that we were still in discussions with the UK Government to secure the best possible outcome for Scotland. There are some important issues to be addressed, including getting assurance that the right levels of support will be available for technologies where Scotland has natural advantages, and ensuring that Scotland’s engagement in the EMR process is robust, meaningful and clearly set out in legislation.
