The Committee is not best placed to respond to the more specific questions in the template for views (on limited assurance for smaller public bodies or best value in Local Government for example) so instead respond in a more general sense to highlight themes that may be of interest in developing the future public audit model and Code of Audit Practice for Scotland.

The instrument also amends the Road Works (Reinstatement)(Scotland) Regulations 1992 to insert a definition of the current statutory code of practice issued in 2019.
The Scottish Government has confirmed that the intention is that the 2008 Regulations also refer to the current version of the code issued in 2019, not the code issued in 2003.
