When Michael Matheson and I took part in the event one year, we got lost and did 56 miles—but that is MSPs for you. David Fox-Pitt has set up other events, such as the Loch Ness marathon and Maggie's monster bike and hike along the north shore of Loch Ness.

In addition, there is a great shortage of advocates.As an MSP for the Highlands, I am happy to pass to the minister a letter from Dyslexia Scotland, which highlights that it can take up to two years in the Highlands to get a diagnosis of dyslexia.

When I retired, it was thought that I could not be replaced because the practice could offer only a part-time salary for full-time work.It is hard to believe that I earn more now as an MSP than I did as a senior principal in general practice.
