Following the six month extension to the Gaelic Officers’ scheme the Scottish Government then provided further funding to ensure the Scheme was able to continue until the end of financial year 2024-25. The Scottish Government provided Bòrd na Gàidhlig with a further £510k to support the Gaelic Officers’ Scheme in 2025-26.

Salmon farming Dr Martin Jaffa 28 November

The results of sampling wild salmon for sea lice in 2024, part of an ongoing twenty year plus programme, shows that even though there was no salmon farming in the researched area, sea lice counts on wild fish increased to levels above that when the salmon farm as present and in full production.
