That is what I was going to say.In 1999, Karen Whitefield, as the youngest female MSP—I could say a swear-word now; I am sure that the other women present feel the same way—was asked by Macmillan Cancer Relief to be the first signatory to its voice for life campaign.

I am glad that she spared us the disgraceful misrepresentation of the issue that she gave in a press release yesterday, which was the most disgraceful misrepresentation that I have seen since I became an MSP. In effect, she said that everybody who has waited longer than nine or 12 months should be counted.

The problem is that, at the local level, the advice does not seem to be followed in practices. MSPs' postbags are full of letters from patients who say that, if they lived three doors up, they would be in a different NHS board area and would be able to get a different drug.

I know that Christine Grahame quoted someone else, but I think that the job of MSPs is to filter such remarks. I think that that particular remark is a slur on the court service and I rebut it.

I know that the SAC values immensely the working relationships that it has established with the University of Aberdeen, the University of Edinburgh and the University of Paisley. We should be very careful about MSPs from the south-west making an understandable rush to protect Auchincruive.

More important, the public should understand Scottish Water's obligation to them, so that they can ensure that Scottish Water meets its obligations regarding consultation and so that MSPs do not have to knock continually at Scottish Water's door to drag the information out—if members will excuse the pun—drip by drip.
