The funding allocated to stakeholders is for the benefit of all NHS health boards across Scotland in tackling key areas of HAI and introducing best practices and methods. This work is being led by the multi agency HAI Task Force.

Scottish Government officials are currently considering how best to take this forward in Scotland and how to address this issue in the violence against women framework that is being developed.
Also, in November 2007, we set up the Public Sector Diversity Network, which aims to share best practice with other public sector employers on a range of diversity and equality issues, including flexible working.
As with all such applications, they will assess the case on its own meritstaking into account the relevant legislation, policy and best practice and willgive a provisional view to the applicants.
Following publication of theMental Welfare Commission Report Older and Wiser - Findings from our unannouncedvisits to NHS continuing care ward (Bib. number 42946), I have asked the NHSboards to provide action plans that set out how they will ensure that all servicesmeet the standards of the best service as identified in that report.
The periods were set after discussion with those who monitor and are involved in these matters, so the 15-year and eight-year review periods that are used north and south of the border are based on the best evidence that we have at present.
Surely boards should seek guarantees from those whom they employ when they take them on. The question is probably best addressed to the health directorates.
COSLA is absolutely up for that, because it and local government in general want to do the very best job for the people they represent, and the fee rise will help in a modest way.
