Around the world, around 15.4 million women are living with HIV. The problem is even more dire in sub-Saharan Africa, where nearly 60 per cent of people living with HIV are women.
The subdivision of properties is making matters worse. People might live with five people above them in a house that was designed for three but, after the subdivision of rooms, they could have 16 people above them—people could live in a communal room above somebody’s bedroom, for example.
