It is not the first time that an attack of that nature has been brought to Parliament’s attention, and I fear that it will not be the last.

*S6M-14850 Liam McArthur: Orkney Women’s Football Club Wins First Inter-County Match in a Decade —That the Parliament congratulates Orkney Women’s Football Club on its 4-1 victory over its Shetland rivals at Kirkwall Grammar School on 5 October 2024; notes that this is the first time that the inter-county fixture has been played in a decade; commends the Orkney goal-scorers, Abi Coltherd, Gemma Montgomery, who is also Orkney’s captain, and Cailynn Williamson, who scored in her first appearance at senior level for Orkney; acknowledges the excellent standard of football played by both teams, which can look ahead to next year’s Island Games, taking place in Orkney, with increasing confidence, and looks forward to seeing the continued development and popularity of girl's and women’s football in Orkney and Shetland.
