You have answered a lot of the questions that I was going to ask. I am an MSP for the Highlands and Islands. I have been using CalMac all my life—I can even remember the days when I used to have to climb down a rope ladder to get on to the ferry to go to Coll.

As the convener said, some of the scientific information is very technical and is difficult even for an MSP such as her to understand. How can an ordinary member of the public be expected to read and understand the scientific assessments?
