There is no doubt that what has been happening elsewhere in the world has had a significant impact on the paper that we have produced. However, we were producing a paper for discussion and development in the context of the Scottish curriculum.
It is important that we recognise that as well as producing children who can read, write and count, which is important, we should produce informed citizens.

To ask the Scottish Executive how many publications it produced in 2004-05. The Scottish Executive produced 263 publications in 2004-05 at a cost of £1,494,496.
