The content of contributions is not a matter for me. Of course, under the members’ code of conduct, which insists on courtesy and respect among members, it is clear that we expect answers to be as responsive as possible.
We have legislated to strengthen victims’ rights and voices—from the introduction of the victims code for Scotland and the standards of service for victims and witnesses to the strengthening of the victim notification and victim statement schemes.
I had wanted to raise the question of whether there is another way of addressing lobbying, perhaps by tightening up the code of conduct, the ministerial code and the civil service code, but I have had the opportunity to raise those issues in answer to earlier questions.

What consideration did you give to that risk? We need to get the code right. The bill is about ensuring that there will be a code and, as part of that code, I want there to be a guest beer right.
