Report on the supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum for the Energy Bill (UK Parliament Legislation) - Introduction
The Energy Bill ("the Bill") was introduced in the House of Lords on 6 July 2022. It aims to—
increase the resilience and reliability of energy systems across the UK;
support the delivery of the UK’s climate change commitments; and
introduce reforms to the UK’s energy systems whilst minimising the cost to consumers and protecting them from unfair pricing.

There is a large headline increase in the forecast for social security spend, from £4.2 billion in 2022-23 to £7.3 billion in 2027-28. In 2026-27, the final year of the forecast produced in December 2021, the SFC now expects that social security spending in Scotland will be £1.4 billion higher than had previously been expected.
